Trimming and Artwork Bleed
Please supply all artwork with 3mm bleed on all 4 sides. PDF’s should come flattened. All text should be outlined or changed to curves and all fonts embedded.
It is essential for cutting purposes that there is a minimum 3mm bleed around your artwork. For example: A6 size (105x148mm see our paper size guide for sizes) would be 111mm x 154.50mm, after printing this would then be cut down to the correct size.
If starting from scratch feel free to use one of our templates.
Microsoft Documents
The following formats are not ideal for printing:
- Word
- Excel
- Publisher
- Powerpoint
- Works
PDF Files
It is important that you prepare your PDF file in the correct way. All artwork should be supplied as high resolution (300dpi), the following options must be set for printing:
- Resolution – Choose High Resolution
- Compression Settings – Both colour and greyscale should be down sampled to 300dpi with “auto compression” set on high
- Font Embedding – Should be set to “embed all fonts”
Colour needs to be set as CMYK not RGB (RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK and this could have effect your colours).
