Trimming and Artwork Bleed
Please supply all artwork with 3mm bleed on all 4 sides. PDF’s should come flattened. All text should be outlined or changed to curves and all fonts embedded.
It is essential for cutting purposes that there is a minimum 3mm bleed around your artwork. For example: A6 size (105x148mm see our paper size guide for sizes) would be 111mm x 154.50mm, after printing this would then be cut down to the correct size.
If starting from scratch feel free to use one of our templates.
The following formats are not ideal for printing:
It is important that you prepare your PDF file in the correct way. All artwork should be supplied as high resolution (300dpi), the following options must be set for printing:
- Resolution – Choose High Resolution
- Compression Settings – Both colour and greyscale should be down sampled to 300dpi with “auto compression” set on high
- Font Embedding – Should be set to “embed all fonts”
Colour needs to be set as CMYK not RGB (RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK and this could have effect your colours).
Include all embedded images and convert all text to curves. Save as compatible with CS4 or previous.
Set Resolution to 300dpi when starting your new document. Save file as either PDF, TIFF or JPEG.
Please ensure all fonts and pictures used are supplied to us in a separate folder using the “package” function under the “file” menu. Compress this using Stuffit or WinZip before sending to us.
Please provide a screenshot of the artwork for our reference to make sure that nothing is missing or moved on the artwork supplied. Save as compatible with CS4 or previous.
